New Educational Health Care Initiative
Canadore College’s School of Health Sciences, in conjunction with HealthForceOntario, is launching an interprofessional care education initiative on Wednesday, April 23.
The project’s vision is to create an environment of collaboration in health care for rural northern locations, and to ensure that students acquire competencies of collaborative practice necessary for patient-centred care.
Interprofessional education occurs when two or more professions work together to improve collaboration and quality of patient care. Canadore will be working with Nipissing University, the North Bay General Hospital and the Northern Ontario Medical School to develop simulations, case scenarios, and clinical experiences to enhance collaborative practice and interprofessional relationships for health personnel.
A launch reception will be hosted by Canadore College on Wednesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m., including an exciting student-led medical simulation. All media are welcome to attend.
