New Students Get a Kick Start at Canadore
New Canadore College students Kick Start their college career at welcome sessions this Thursday and Friday.
The Kick Start events, held at all three North Bay campuses, will give new students and their families the opportunity to become familiar with the College and the City of North Bay.
The public is invited to join President George Burton and the Canadore Team at the President’s Garden Party, held at the Campus pond on Thursday evening, to learn more about the quality education, excellent programming and exceptional student services readily accessible in the area.
Friday’s all-day Kick Start event provides students with important student life information, an opportunity to meet College employees and access to the tools they need to be prepared for their academic studies in the fall. Students and their families will be led through a series of workshops and information sessions while they spend time with the people that will be teaching, mentoring and supporting their children throughout the school year.
“The event is designed for students and their families to become acquainted with Canadore and to officially become a part of the College family. We want to give our students the best jumpstart possible by showcasing all that Canadore has to offer. I am positive that the transition into college life will be more comfortable for those who participate,” said Ryan Drouin, Recruitment Officer.
The President’s Garden Party is on Thursday, July 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. by the College Drive Campus pond. Canadore Kick Start Day is taking place on Friday, July 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at all three campus locations.
