Congratulations Canadore Graduates!
Canadore College is holding its seventh convocation ceremony this year for programs that ended this summer on Saturday, September 12.
The Ceremonies will take place at the College Drive Campus beginning at 10 a.m. Guest speaker, Steve Carmichael, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC), will be speaking to graduates from the School of Communication Arts, the School of Information Technology, the School of Preparatory Studies, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of Skilled Trades.
Steve has an honours degree in mathematics, a Masters Degree in business administration, and is a chartered accountant. He began his career with Ontario Northland in the finance department and progressed through several positions including VP Rail before being appointed President and CEO in 2004. In addition to his extensive work with the Commission, Steve has served on several boards including the Ontario Telephone Association, the Canadian Independent Telephone Association, the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario and Nipissing University, where he held the position of Board Chair for two years.
Canadore is very proud of all the graduates for their achievements. Canadore’s priority is to provide relevant programming for our students to excel in their chosen careers. The most recent Key Performance Indicators show that 95.5% of employers are satisfied or very satisfied with Canadore graduates. This year, Canadore graduated 1,070 students.
