Canadore Hosting Student Welcome Sessions
Canadore College is once again hosting its annual Beat the Rush sessions during July. The goal of the sessions is to provide new students and their parents with an opportunity to become more familiar with the college and the City of North Bay, while allowing them to beat many of the long lineups at the beginning of the fall academic year.
These events allow the college to provide the students and their families with relevant information that is integral to their academic and personal success. Student activities and seminars include postsecondary budgeting techniques, a library tour, a technology workshop, college accreditation materials, and a guided tour of the City of North Bay. Parents will have the opportunity to learn more about their children’s education by attending an academic clinic.
Chris Bird, Beat the Rush coordinator says, “Students attending Beat the Rush have the opportunity to explore their campus and feel comfortable in their surroundings, making it less of a burden in September when they have so many other things to think about.”
Beat the Rush sessions will take place on:
Friday, July 20: College Drive Campus
Friday, July 27: College Drive Campus
