Artist in residence winning awards for work
Canadore College's artist in residence, Keith Campbell, has had a busy summer winning awards and exhibiting his work.
In June, he won a best-in-clay award at the Ontario Craft Council's Regional Exhibition in Elliot Lake. The exhibit will be shown at the new Ontario Craft Council's Gallery in Toronto, Thursday through Aug. 27.
Campbell was also awarded a $1,200 grant from the Ontario Arts Council and his works are currently being exhibited in a solo show - Keith Campbell: The Turn of the Screw - at the Station Gallery in Whitby. The exhibition, on display until Sept. 2, is a display of clay sculpture that satirizes myths and legends of Canadian cultural history.
His work will also appear in a new book called China Paint and Onglaze by Paul Lewing, published by the American Ceramic Society.
