For Immediate Release: November 30, 2006
LIONS/CTV Children’s Christmas Telethon
On December 2, between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. the Lions/CTV Children’s Christmas Telethon will be broadcast live from Canadore College and Nipissing University.
The Telethon is a means of raising funds to provide toys to children in your area who might not otherwise have a Merry Christmas. The Lions Club also provides turkeys and hams for those families in need during the festive season.
The 2005 Telethon provided toys and/or gift certificates for 761 children along with 307 turkeys and hams for their families.
Spectators are welcome to watch over 30 live acts at the Nipissing University Theatre. There will be dancers, fiddlers, singers, live bands, step dancers, as well as local youth choirs.
Donations can be made live on the air on December 2, to any member of your local Lions Club, or at any local Bank of Nova Scotia branch.
For further information, please contact Lion Bob Dugard at 776-7708 or CTV’s Sean Croteau at 476-3111 extension 4258.
Let’s help those in need at Christmas!
