Great Canadian Shoreline Clean Up
Students and professors from the Environmental Technician – Protection and Compliance program are participating in one of the world’s largest shoreline clean up initiatives, the TD Canada Trust Great Canadian Shoreline Clean Up.
First and second year Environmental students and faculty are taking an afternoon to collect and dispose of litter along Marathon Beach on September 20 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Canadore students and faculty are joining thousands of volunteers as they clean up Canadian rivers, streams, lakes and ocean shorelines across Canada between September 16 and 24.
“This event is a great opportunity for first and second year students to get out into the community as representatives of their program while helping to benefit the environment. This is our second year of participation and the faculty are very proud of the way the students have taken charge this year,” said Canadore’s Environmental program co-ordinator, Pat Frair.
Conservation partners of this event include the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund.
