Young scientists display experiments at Education Centre
 
 
College and Nipissing University are proud to host the region’s future scientists for the 2006 North Bay Regional Science Fair, taking place on Wednesday April 5, 2006, in the Education Centre Gymnasium.

The fair will feature students in Grades 7 – 12 who will be demonstrating their unique experiments in a variety of science fields including Biotechnology, Engineering, Earth Environment and Physical Science. More than 100 projects will be on display.

A guided nature walk throughout the Education Centre grounds takes place at noon. Students participating in the science fair will be given tours of the science facilities at Canadore and Nipissing beginning at 2 p.m. The award ceremony takes place from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the gymnasium.

The event begins at 9:00 a.m. and is open to the public.

Two $1,000 scholarships, one from Nipissing University and one from Canadore College, will be given to the top senior winners. Nipissing will also give a $1,500 award to the top senior winner to assist with expenses incurred in travelling to the Canada Wide Science Fair in Saguenay, Québec, May 13 – 21.
