Golden Beef Competition at Canadore
Canadore Culinary Arts students are competing for the best culinary creation in the Golden Beef Competition at Canadore College on March 25.
This is a joint project for Abitibi-Temiscamingue and Northern Ontario. Golden Beef is a naturally developed product. Cattle are grass-fed and contain no hormone implants or antibiotics to produce a more tender beef that contains less fat.
The competition, which is sponsored by FedNor, South Temiskaming Community Futures, Northern Lights Regional Foods and Canada Cutlery Inc., has five teams of first and second-year Canadore Culinary students cooking their way to the winning round in the quest for best recipe.
The judging starts at 1 p.m. in the Canadore Room, with the winners being announced at 2 p.m. Competition winners will be selected by three local judges. This year’s special guest is Vic Fedeli, Progressive Conservative candidate for Nipissing District and former mayor of North Bay. The first prize winners will receive $300.
All media are welcome to attend.
