Golden Beef Competition at Canadore
A new beef branded product under development is the focus of the Golden Beef Competition at Canadore College on Friday, April 21.
The competition, which is sponsored by FedNor, South Temiskaming Community Futures, Northern Lights Regional Foods and Canada Cutlery Inc., has 6 teams of first and second year Canadore Culinary students cooking their way to the winning round in the quest for best recipe.
Golden Beef is a new product that is developed naturally. Cattle are grass-fed and contain no hormone implants or antibiotics to produce a more tender beef that contains less fat.
This is a joint project for Abitibi-Temiscamingue and Northern Ontario.
Competition winners will be selected by three local judges. The judging starts at 12 p.m. in the Canadore Room. Winners will be announced between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
