ACE Canadore Winner of Global Traders Award
ACE Canadore came home with a silver medal in the Student Achievement category at the 8th Annual Ontario Global Traders Awards for Excellence in Exporting held on April 26 and 27 at the Best Western.
The Awards, an initiative of the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, recognize outstanding export achievements of innovative and successful small and medium sized enterprises, leaders and students in Ontario.
ACE was nominated by Tanya Bedard, Small Business Advisor for The Business Centre - Nipissing Parry Sound and former ACE member. ACE is Canadore’s award-winning entrepreneurship club that consists of Meaghan Byrnes, Jeff Driscoll, Heidi Huften, Justin Hodgkinson, Karl Lundgren, Shevonne Brodeur, and coach Bob Walpole, Business Professor.
“I am very proud of my students. It is gratifying to see them get recognition for some of the wonderful work they have been doing over the past year to promote an exporting culture in Ontario,” said Walpole.
The ACE Canadore team hopes to carry on with further success at the ACE (Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship) National Competition being held in Toronto from May 14 to 16, 2006. They will be showcasing 31 projects they have completed this year to help improve new and existing businesses and teach others about entrepreneurship and global economics.
