First Graduating Class Parry Sound
Canadore College is pleased to announce that on August 3, seven students will be the first ever graduates of its 24-week Mechanical Techniques – Welder Fitter Ontario certificate program in Parry Sound.
Welder-Fitter is offered out of Canadore’s satellite campus. The program, which had its first intake in January 2006, was created because of a need for skilled workers in the area. The program emphasizes the safe and practical application of welding procedures including, plate steel welding, aluminum welding, gas metal arc and gas tungsten arc welding, oxy-acetylene welding, as well as, brazing and cutting techniques.
The Convocation Exercises will be held on Thursday between 11 a.m. and 12 a.m. at Parry Sound Secondary School, located at 111 Isabelle St.
