Ontario's Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, John Milloy, announced an $18-million investment this morning to build the new student learning centre at Nipissing University and Canadore College.

The $23-million project is expected to go to tender this year and construction of the three-storey building should begin in early 2009.

A joint fundraising campaign between Nipissing and Canadore, which is expected to be unveiled in the upcoming months, should raise the remaining $5-million.

Nipissing MPP Monique Smith, also the provincial minister of revenue, was on hand in front of the Education Centre Library this morning as the funding was announced.
