North Bay Residents Invited To Critique A New Television Show
CTV Television and Nielson Media Research are inviting residents of North Bay, who are 18 years and older, to critique a never-before-seen television program at Canadore College. A screening of a new young adult drama will take place at Canadore College on February 26 and audience feedback will be used to determine whether the show will be released on national television. Audience members will also be asked for input on a variety of commercials.
The event will take place at Canadore College?s main campus, 100 College Drive, in the Weaver Auditorium on Thursday, February 26, at 7:00 p.m. Reserve your seat today and participate in the first market research study of this magnitude in Northern Ontario. To register, call Phil Hayes, Liaison Officer, at ext. 5460 or e-mail info@canadorec.on.ca.
Student Commercial Chosen To Promote Event
The screening is only one component of a partnership between Canadore and CTV. Nielson and CTV issued a challenge to Canadore students in the Broadcasting ? Television and Video Production, Broadcasting ? Radio, and Journalism ? Print and Broadcast to write a 30-second television commercial that would effectively excite viewers about this upcoming event.
Nathan Thibert, a second-year Broadcasting-Radio student, who is originally from West Nipissing, wrote the winning commercial, which is presently being aired on MCTV.
?We?re extremely proud of Nathan?s accomplishments at Canadore,? said Professor Sue Childs. ?Exemplary work and a genuine enthusiasm for broadcasting have garnered Nathan the respect of his peers and his teachers.?
