Students Test Skills in the Courtroom
Canadore Police Foundations students have the opportunity to test their skills in a real-life courtroom setting this week participating in mock trials for offences that range from robbery to impaired driving.
As part of their final projects, second year students incorporate their learned theory and skills by acting as witnesses and investigating officers from cases they were assigned earlier in the semester. The students present their findings and the collected evidence to former law enforcement officials who are acting as defense, prosecution and judge.
Trials began on April 17 and run until Friday, April 21. There are two trials each day that run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Law and Justice Courtroom, located at the Commerce Court Campus.
