Congratulations Canadore Graduates!
 
 
Canadore is holding its Convocation Ceremonies for the Schools of Business, Communication Arts, Human Services, Information Technology on May 25.

Guest speaker Peter Dinsdale, Chief Operating Officer for the Assembly of First Nations, will be speaking to over 360 graduates.

Peter Dinsdale, an Anishwabe and member of the Curve Lake First Nation is passionate about improving the quality of life of Aboriginal people. To this end, Mr. Dinsdale has worked on provincial urban Aboriginal homelessness programming, youth employment and training initiatives and developing alternative education programs. He holds a Bachelor of Arts – Political Science and Native Studies degree and was awarded a Master of Arts – Interdisciplinary Humanities from Laurentian University.

“Peter Dinsdale has made a significant contribution to the lives of Aboriginal people in this province, specifically to the youth population,” said George Burton, President of Canadore College. “His leadership and forward-thinking have changed the face of education for Indigenous youth, making it more meaningful, accessible and relevant. Canadore is pleased to be granting Mr. Dinsdale with an honourary diploma for these marked achievements.”

Canadore is very proud of all its graduates for their accomplishments and for achieving their education goals. Each year, the College graduates approximately 1,000 students. Canadore has conferred over 36,000 alumni since its doors opened.

The ceremonies are being held at the College Drive Campus (100 College Drive) on May 25 at 10 a.m. The remaining Convocation Ceremonies will take place on:

May 26, 2011 – Health Sciences, Law and Justice, Office Administration

May 27, 2011– Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts, Preparatory Programs, Recreation and Leisure Services
