Canadore and Nipissing Students Ready for Job Fair 2005
Nipissing University and Canadore College students will be out in full force at the Education Centre (College Drive Campus) to take advantage of Job Fair 2005 on Wednesday, March 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Education Centre Gymnasium.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of the Nipissing/Canadore collaborative job fair.
The event is fully subscribed, with forty employers on-hand representing five key areas of industry: business, government, hospitality, finance, and education.
The fair offers businesses a timely and cost-efficient method to fill a variety of full-time, part-time, internships and summer positions. For job seekers, it represents an opportunity to market their skills to local, regional and national employers. As well, students can find out more about the present demand for employees within each sector.
“This is a great opportunity for our students to do some research in their chosen career area. Our annual job fair demonstrates the commitment of both of our institutions to our students, their success as graduates, and to the industries and employers within our community and region” noted Bob Smith, career services consultant at Canadore College. “The goal of the job fair is to facilitate the job search and recruitment processes by providing students and employers with greater access to one another. “
“We are very proud that our fair attracts so many employers,” says Terry Roome, Nipissing University’s placement officer. “It is a clear indication of the reputation of our two institutions and the performance of our graduates in the workplace.”
