Canadian Talent Produces Documentary at Canadore
Canadore Theatre Arts students and faculty are the featured talent for a new documentary film.
Muskoka Film Works Inc. looked to the College for its talent and location. Producers Bill Plumstead and Harry Wilson Jr. felt that the Theatre Arts students were the ideal fit to introduce the audience to the lives of racers Harold and Lorna Wilson.
Harold and Lorna follows the lives of the legendary boat racing duo from 1931 – 1950, highlighting the couple’s passion for boating competition, and their challenges and successes.
Altogether, 12 Canadore students and alumni are involved in the shooting of the documentary in various roles. Furthermore, Theatre Arts professor and TVO’s Best Lecturer (2009), Rod Carley will be playing a principal role.
The 90-minute documentary will begin filming at Canadore’s Commerce Court Campus from April 28 to 30.
Film credits include:
Producer and director – Bill Plumstead (That Beautiful Somewhere, 2007)
Producer – Harry Wilson Jr.
Director of photography – Jordan Presseault (Canadore College – Television and Video Production graduate, 2009)
The film is scheduled to be released across Canada in late fall 2011.
