26,000 Graduates and Counting!
 
On Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, 2004, 1,000 students will graduate from Canadore College? bringing the total number of Canadore alumni to more than 26,000! This year, Canadore welcomes keynote speakers Mr. Rick Padulo, Chairman and CEO of Padulo Integrated Inc. on June 4, 2004 and Mr. Tom Barlow, President of Coca-Cola Bottling Company on June 5, 2004. Canadore will present both Mr. Padulo and Mr. Barlow with honourary diplomas from the Business Administration - Marketing program.
 
The convocation ceremonies will celebrate the accomplishments of 1,000 Canadore graduates, with more than 3,000 family and friends expected to attend. Three ceremonies will be held:

1. Friday, June 4, 2004, at 2:00 p.m.
Ceremony graduating students from Aviation, Information Technology, Law and Justice, Office Administration and Skilled Trades programs.

2. Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 10:00 a.m.
Ceremony graduating students from Communication Arts, Health Sciences and Preparatory programs.

3. Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 2:30 p.m.
Ceremony graduating students from Business, Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation and Leisure Services, Human Development and Community Services programs.


Several awards will also be presented at the ceremonies, including the President?s and Governor General?s Awards, along with Academic Achievement Awards and the President?s Recognition Awards for volunteerism.

All convocation ceremonies will take place in Canadore College?s College Drive gymnasium.


Rick Padulo
Rick Padulo, Chairman and CEO of Padulo Integrated Inc. will act as the convocation speaker at the June 4th ceremony. Mr. Padulo is the founder of what is arguably the most successful independent and privately owned agency in Canadian advertising history.

He has been voted business-to-business marketer of the year by the American Marketing Association and his company was voted one of the 50 Best Managed Private Companies in Canada by Arthur Andersen and the Financial Post.

Mr. Padulo is also involved in a variety of community organizations, including the Hospital for Sick Children, The Royal Ontario Museum, The Canadian Olympic Trust and the National Ballet, among others. He has lectured extensively throughout North America, has spent time as an editorial broadcaster and writes regular marketing columns for such publications as Profit Magazine.

Mr. Padulo simultaneously loves and hates golf, is an avid skier and scuba diver, and has three sons.



Tom Barlow

Tom Barlow was appointed president of Coca-Cola Bottling Company January 1, 2002. Having previously served as Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Office of Coca-Cola Bottling, he is now responsible for the Canadian business including manufacturing, sales and distribution.

Mr. Barlow brings with him over 26 years of service and experience in the beverage industry. He began his career in Vancouver and has held management positions as Western Canadian General Manager, Canada Dry and Vice President of Sales in Alberta, Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

Mr. Barlow left Canada briefly for Los Angeles in 1998, where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Southern California at Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., the world's largest Coca-Cola bottler. He returned to Canada and Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 2000 in the role of Vice President and General Manager, Eastern Canada.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Mr. Barlow is a graduate of the University of Alberta and has an MBA from Athabasca University. Tom makes his home in Unionville, Ontario with his wife and two children. He serves on the boards of Markham Stouffville Hospital, Corporations Supporting Recycling, Refreshments Canada and Food and Consumer Products Manufacturers of Canada.
