Interprofessional Health-Care Education
at Canadore
Within healthcare in Canada, there is a developing movement to improve collaboration among all of the stakeholders/team members. This may include practitioners, administrators, family and first and formost the patient. It is understood that effective collaboration within our healthcare system results in better patient outcomes.
The development of a healthcare system which operates based on a premise of collaboration must begin at the ground level with the education of our future health care professionals. Interprofessional Education (IPE) involves learning with, from and about each other, and sharing our different perspectives while learning together in areas of common interest in the practice of health care. Our goal is to enable our graduates to be successful collaborators in health-care practice with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes
At Canadore College, we are creating innovative and interactive opportunities to bring students and faculty of different professions together.
