Parking and Traffic Regulations

Introduction

Faculty, staff and students are responsible for making themselves aware of the regulation pertaining to the operation and parking of vehicles at Canadore College and Nipissing University.

A complete set of Parking and Traffic Regulations is available through Security Services, room C210 at the main campus.

A permit to park, or cash accepted by the college and university for parking, does not guarantee the availability of a parking space and constitutes a licence to park in a given area with no bailment relationship.

Responsibility

Canadore College and Nipissing University assumes no risk or responsibility for damages to or losses of vehicle or contents.

Parking Areas

  • The parking plan indicates parking areas; the absence of signage does not mean that parking is permitted.
  • The Canadore Lower residence, Nipissing founders House and Chancellors House parking permits are NOT VALID at The Education Centre, Aviation and Commerce Court Campuses.
  • No overnight parking at anytime unless prior arrangements have been made with the Security Services, room C210.

Violations

Vehicles will be ticked and /or removed from college or university property and impounded at the owners risk and expense if:

  1. Use of a fraudulent or stolen permit is discovered. (subject to legal action)
  2. Parked in a parking area other than the designated lot indicated on the permit.
  3. Parked on any roadway not specifically signed to allow parking.
  4. Parked in unauthorized areas.

  9. Driver fails to obey regulating signage.
  10. Driver fails to pay for pay& display due to lack of proper change.
  11. Parked with outstanding parking fines.

Canadore College and Nipissing University may suspend or cancel parking privileges at any time for just cause. Permits are the property of Canadore College and Nipissing University and must be returned upon request.

Canadore College and Nipissing University will search outstanding parking fines on the MTO database and invoice vehicle owner accordingly.

Display and use of permit implies knowledge and acceptance of “Parking and Traffic Regulations” issued with and forming part of this permit. Extra copies are available where permits are issued
