From the moment you arrive at Canadore College, you are aware that this college is sensitive to the concerns of students who may require special accommodations. We recognize that you may require changes to your physical environment, assistive devices, learning aids and alternative program delivery, in order to be successful in your postsecondary studies. We provide the services necessary to make you feel comfortable and confident as you undertake your education at Canadore College. Our counsellors and support staff are available to discuss the personal, physical and learning demands of the program you wish to pursue, to provide a thorough assessment of your needs and to help adapt the program to your needs. The essence of equalizing opportunities is empowering individuals to take control of their own lives. Self identification of your specific needs is voluntary and treated confidentially. Where feasible and appropriate, after consultation with college personnel, modifications in testing, teaching and learning methods and other adaptations will be established. Canadore also offers a support program called, “Learning Disabilities, Enhanced Services Program,″ to selected students with a specific, documented learning disability.
