Military Arts and Science College Diploma

The Military Arts and Science diploma will provide Non-Commissioned Members (NCMs) of the Canadian Forces and those interested in military affairs with a comprehensive knowledge of leadership, critical thinking, security studies, resource management, and communication skills deemed essential to the functioning of modern military or large corporations. This diploma will serve as a recognized component of the Non-Commissioned Members training. The Military Arts and Science Diploma is available entirely via Distance Education.

Admission Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma at or above the general level or its equivalent. Grade 12 English is also required.

Admission Procedures

Application to the program is made through the Ontario College Application Services. Students will register for individual courses at Canadore. Students are not required to be accepted in the program prior to registering for courses.

Introduction to Computers

This innovative website course will familiarize the student with fundamental computer concepts, bringing the student with no or minimal computer skills to a level of comfort with concepts, jargon and most-used applications. Upon successful completion, participants will be able to execute fundamental commands in MS-DOS and will be able to use the most common functions of either MS Word or WordPerfect, and MS Excel or Lotus. Required software: Word processing and spreadsheet package.

Operations Planning Process

Combining elements from business management and social sciences, this course introduces students to an iterative logical framework process that guides, informs and shapes analysis of a given situation. Students will learn to identify constraints and restraints, select the best course of action, and develop a comprehensive operations plan.
