Interested in upgrading for college or employment?

Consider applying to the Academic Upgrading program in Mattawa, located at F.J. McElligott High School. You can upgrade your math and English skills in your own community. The program is free and has continuous intake. Call Kim Sawyer today at (705) 474-7600 ext. 5469.

Numerous Certificates Are Available Through Distance Education

Complete courses or entire certificates from the comfort of your own home or through your local Contact North site in Mattawa. Be sure to read through the entire calendar as all Contact North, correspondence and online classes are available to you. Go to the OntarioLearn website at www.ontariolearn.com - we can register you for most of the courses or certificate programs you find.

Programming in the Mattawa area began with back-to-back offerings of a postsecondary welding program arising from and supported by local needs. In conjunction with the Near North District School Board, Canadore College was able to offer this full-time program and continues to occupy a portable on the site of F.J. McElligott Secondary School, where adult upgrading programming occurs from September until June. We are extremely pleased to work with the numerous individuals and organizations in Mattawa and surrounding areas as we look to establish sustainable activity and timely and relevant education and training to develop a strong and active workforce for the region.
