Canadore College will provide quality, relevant and timely education and training to its students and will be an active community partner in the social, economic and cultural fabric of North Bay and Northeastern Ontario.
In meeting its commitment to students:
Canadore College will work continuously to be recognized as a college offering a supportive setting that encourages interaction between faculty and students.
The goal of its programming will be to develop the ability of students to contribute successfully to the economic, social, and environmental worth of sustainable communities and to broaden students' lifestyle choices by developing skills relevant to work in the global economy.
In meeting its commitment to its community:
Canadore College will work continuously to nurture its reputation for the consistent, excellent, service-oriented quality of its relationships with students and partners.
Canadore College will ensure that both its internal community of students, faculty and staff and its external partners are treated in a manner consistent with the college's Statement of Values and Expectations.
The Canadore Student Residence Living Standards are based on the Canadore Commitment and the Statement of Values and Expectations. These principles encourage respect and responsibility among students, and faculty. To view these principles, see above.
The objectives of these standards are to further student development and enhance the academic experience. While accountability for behaviour is emphasized, sanctioning is not based on punitive ideas. It is our hope that students are able to learn from the process and come to understand the nature of the relationship between their behaviour and its consequences.
While recognizing the nature of the residence environment, the Canadore Student Residence Office seeks to educate students around community standards and the effect that their choices may have on others around them. Students have the privilege of enjoying social activities as long as they do not conflict with the rights of other students to pursue academic endeavors.
The Canadore Student Residence Office employs professional support and student staff. They act as resource personnel and agents of the Student Residence Office and are charged with the responsibility of upholding all rules and regulations. Students can expect that all policy infractions will be investigated in a timely and effective manner. Cooperation with staff is an expectation to ensure that all facts can be gathered and failure to provide this cooperation may constitute as infraction.
