Canadore College Hosts Panther Extramural Hockey Tournament
On Thursday November 3rd, Canadore College hosts the annual Panther Extramural Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. The tournament features 7 teams from all over Ontario this year. The one day tournament is scheduled to begin at 8:45am with the championships scheduled for 5:45pm that afternoon. All of the games will be played at the Pete Palangio Arena on Wallace Road in North Bay. This tournament will feature 4 of the top 10 college extramural hockey teams in the Power Rankings from the 2010-2011 season. Those teams are St. Lawrence-Cornwall finishing last year’s season in 1st, Georgian-Barrie finishing in 6th, Fleming-Lindsay in 9th, and Georgian-Orillia in 10th. The power rankings are the result of tournament performances and are used to qualify for the Challenge Cup at the end of the season.
This is the first of 7 tournaments, 8 if the Panthers qualify for the Challenge Cup in March, for our Panther extramural club ice hockey team. Everyone is encouraged to come out to the Pete Palangio arena and cheer on our student athletes as they battle for the Championship. Go Panthers Go!
