Welcome to Canadore College Panther Athletics. The Panther varsity teams are proud members of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association. Panther varsity programs consist of women’s fastball, men's volleyball, and women's volleyball.
Panther athletics recognizes the ability of competitive sport to provide student athletes with opportunities for elite competition, personal growth, socialization in a healthy environment and providing a balanced college lifestyle.
Yes you can! You have already proven yourself in high school as a student athlete who possesses the basic work ethic and discipline required to succeed at the college level.
At Canadore we are very proud of the support services we provide to our student-athletes. We have a strong partnership between athletics and academics.
Canadore Panther teams are comprised of student athletes who study in many areas including: dental hygiene, practical nursing, police foundations, small business management and recreation and leisure services.
Eligibility Requirements To be eligible as a Canadore Panther student-athlete, you must be enrolled in a full-time program, which leads to a diploma, degree or certificate. You must achieve a minimum 2.0 grade point average to remain a team member. If you are registering for January start, and interested in any of our programs, please contact the appropriate varsity head coach for try-out information.
Identification Camps If you are interested in being a 2007-08 Panther club athlete and taking part in our identification camps please complete and e-mail the attached “Identification Camp –Athlete Profile Form” immediately.
Try-out Process: 1. Register as a full-time student. 2. Choose your sport of interest, and submit the Identification Camp-Athlete Profile Form" to Panther athletics. 3. Check the team website for your try-out times/dates. 4. Attend the player information meeting before the first official try-out session is scheduled.
Selection of Team Members Each head coach will outline the try-out schedule and notify athletes and athletic department when their team line-up will be announced.
Athlete Commitment When chosen as a Panther varsity athlete the commitment level is:
1. Minimal varsity participation fee. (non-refundable) 2. Attend three practices a week. 3. Support the coaches training and conditioning program. 4. Be available for weekend/weekday league games. 5. Be prepared to travel across Ontario for games and exhibition tournaments. 6. Abide by the “Panther Code of Conduct”
